The official listing supports two uses: animals placed at your base earn cash, and the Index tracks collection. An animal that is useful for a new entry is not automatically the best income choice.
Record the exact name and values the game shows after a successful pickup. This guide has not verified a complete species list and does not turn promotional guardians into obtainable pets.
A verified first-run example
The September 29 creator recording shows a Chicken successfully placed at base near 0:26, with a Common label visible. This confirms one animal example in that recording; it is not a complete or current animal roster.
Use the live Index for the remaining names and rarity labels. The wiki does not infer obtainable animals from the much larger guardians shown in promotional art.

Selling and merging need a second look
The developer announced a new inventory system with pet selling and a merge machine that merges pets into eggs. Before removing an animal, read the current confirmation and check whether it serves an income or collection goal.
No recipe, refund amount or restoration rule is assumed here. If the outcome is unclear, keep the animal until you can read the result and cost in the live interface.
